Today we shall be discussing the sleeping Beauty.

The pretty princess who pricked her finger and fell into a deep sleep. Only to be awoken by true love’s kiss.

Or should I say A Complete and Utter Stranger’s kiss.

Why there are a lot of variations of how this story went down. I will be evaluating some.

Let’s take a time Jump and begin this analysis from when the prince arrives after a thousand years. And all the fairies had done all they could do but dear sleeping beauty was still sleeping.

First off that is disgusting on so many levels. I mean you see people look down on age gap of 10 years amongst couples. And yet you can accept a thousand years age gap.

Seems like double standards to me.

Not to even bring up the fact that sleeping beauty was the older one. I mean wasn’t dude grossed out to attempt kissing a lady old enough to be his great × 100 grandmother.

The Part of the Curse that I might say was still a blessing is that she didn’t age.

A lot of people now would kill for a technology like that in these times.

Also, I don’t get how the prince’s kiss was a true love’s kiss. I mean it’s not like you can fall in love with someone who is dead, and you have never seen and has zero impact on Your life.

But apparently this prince did and even travelled far and wide to look for her.

Personally, I would have left her to sleep.

Why?

Because I doubt you can live happily ever after when you wake up a thousand years later and everyone you know and love is gone.

I can speculate that sleeping beauty would have suffered some severe mental illnesses.

She wouldn’t just have climbed on the prince horse and rode into rainbows and sunshine.

But out of all disney princesses, I see her curse as a blessing.

Let’s not also forget the version of sleeping beauty that portrays a king who finds a lady asleep in the forest and SA the sleeping girl.

This story takes a dark and twisted turn. As the king does unspeakable things in this version.

In all versions of Sleeping Beauty, the story is just twisted when you think deeply about it.

All versions excluding Maleficent of course.

I love how the true love’s kiss / peck came from Maleficent someone who had actually stayed with the girl and nurtured her and not the prince.
