Breathe, Live & Smile

Giraffe Manor, Nairobi, Kenya.

Starting in the heart of Kenya, Nairobi, The Giraffe Manor is a safari paradise. We know the best practices for unwinding entail spending time with nature.

When was the last time you saw a giraffe up close and personal?

If you don’t work at a zoo then It’s most definitely been a while. Thinking back on it, the last time I saw one should be on an excursion trip we took when I was in middle school.

This manor is situated on 12 acres of private land within the premises of the Langata Suburb in Nairobi. The manor has been in existence since the 1930s when people from all over the world flocked to East Africa to enjoy Safaris.

Even from the name of this hotel, you can already tell one of its allures is its residence of Rothschild’s Giraffes. These giraffes are often spotted in the morning and evenings before they retreat to their refuge, the forest. These Giraffes are the pride of the location as they’re one of the endangered species of giraffes.

In 2018 it was estimated that there were only 1,399 in existence in the wild.

Both within the manor and its surrounding locations there is a lot to do such as going sightseeing, observing one of nature’s tallest creatures and exploring the cultures of the locals.

Guests describe this location as nature’s paradise, maybe it’s the remote location, the peace or the animals. Or perhaps a fine blend of all.

Kakslauttanen Resort, Finland.

From the east of Africa, we transcend to the north of Europe with this next location.

The Kakslauttanen is probably the best location to behold the beauty of the northern lights.

Spending a night here is like crossing into another world. Instead of busy street lights and car honks, you’ll be amazed by the igloo-styled rooms made with glass so you can behold the beauty of the midnight sun and northern lights.

Autumn is just around the corner and this location ticks off everything for that season. Enjoy arctic nature at its finest in a cool trip to the Kakslauttanen this autumn.

These Glass igloo-styled rooms give the impression of falling asleep under the watchful eyes of the stars. This location will have you under a spell and you will be itching to come back.

The Kakslauttanen is the imagery representation of a wonder to experience. If you have first-hand let me know what you think.

Ice hotel, Sweden

Nesting in the Torne river banks, the ice hotel in Sweden was first mounted in the late 1980s and today is now one of Sweden’s most notable landmarks.

There are numerous hotels you can take a trip to all day round and still have a blast. However, the ice hotel is only open for 5 months out of 12 in a year, the 5 months starting from December.

It wouldn’t be named the ice hotel if it wasn’t freezing cold. Perhaps this was why it was open starting in December when winter was at its peak. The peculiar name of the hotel is derived from the fact that the temperature at this location never rises above sub-zero.

Guests are provided with warm articles of clothing and advised to keep them on at all times.

While other locations prioritize basking in the sun, getting a tan and taking a swim on extremely hot days this spot champions the exact opposite. It’s different and I like it. You can also feast your eyes on the art exhibitions displayed at the hotel.

Casa Caracol, Isla Mujeres, Mexico.

This location is also famously known as the shell house.

The name is derived from the architectural structure of the hotel which is very similar to a shell. The shell house has a wonderful view of the Caribbean and is located in the south of Isla Mujeres.

Take a stroll and feel the wind in your hair and let the murmurs of the sea soothe your emotions. Take a break from everything and enjoy solitude at this location.

This experience can feel rejuvenating after dealing with a lot of stressful events. Plan your next vacation now.

One of the attractions of this location is the hotel’s renewed pool which is decorated with palm trees giving it an oasis feel and tropical look. Be amongst the first to withhold the sea’s treasures every morning and go to bed with the soothing sounds of the waves crashing and the tides falling.

Awaken to a truly natural sight of the sun rising. Go out and take strolls to reveal amazing cliffs and beaches.

You can never regret a trip to sucj an exotic location.

Angama Mara, Kenya

Inspired by a Swahili word which translates to suspended in mid-air. We have another location from Kenya, Angama Mara is located feet high above the African great rift valley.

While staying at this location, you can take a visit to Masai Mara which is one of Kenya’s national reserves.

Angama Mara has elegance and style written all over it. Without having to sacrifice your comfort you can still enjoy a rugged and adventurous safari trip.

This location is for people who enjoy convenience and ease but would still like to discover what it feels like to go on an adventure. It’s like camping in an RV, you get to experience nature but in style.

At this location, there are 30 tents which are split into 2 twin camps which give off an intimate feel. The camp provides options to choose from and plan your safari schedule.

You do not need to worry about doing activities you’re uncomfortable with but instead, have the choice to select the activities you want to participate in.

At the tents, you get a full 180-degree view of your surroundings.

Go camping in your RV at this location, choosing style, comfort, convenience and ease.

Four seasons, Bora Bora

You know it’s not a complete list of hotels without the four seasons. While Four Seasons always strives for perfection with their hotels, the one situated in Bora Bora is unmatched.

When it comes to overwater bungalows, villas close to the beachfront and exquisite dining no other location comes close.

Escape the traffic, the noise and the chatter to a location of pure silence. Aren’t you tired of looking out your windows and seeing so many people or other apartment buildings? At this location when you look out you are greeted by the calm river upon which your suite is crafted.

Bora Bora, which is an exquisite island located in French Polynesia has a surreal feeling but take it up a notch by lodging in the four seasons.

Regardless of the country, and the location you can always bet that the four seasons deliver remarkably well.

Closing remarks

Take yourself out on a trip, you deserve it. Get up and plan that next trip there’s a whole world out there which you need to discover.

Which of these locations will you add to your bucket list next?
