My project, Feelings&Poems began during the period I was home and school wasn’t in session, which was great. I had time to work on it and my blog in general for approximately 8 hours every day.

Unfortunately, the school was back in session, and this 8-hour time frame got slashed in half. I also had to find time to work within that time frame.
It became a bit chaotic trying to get everything up and running and also having to attend class, meet up with work deadlines and also hand in tests so my grades don’t suffer.
I remember the first few days I was back on campus, there wasn’t electricity at my hostel, and I didn’t have it in me to haul my laptop with me to campus, so I just thought to wait it out.
And indeed, the electricity was restored, but then the voltage was too high, and since I had failed to purchase a surge protector, a lot of things in my apartment got fried that day. Essentially everything that was plugged in.
I’m talking about my extension, fan, light bulbs, my phone charger, laptop charger… everything is gone.
At this point, it seemed like the signs were just urging me to postpone the release of the Ebook as the only draft I had was the one on my laptop which had been dead for over a week now.
I had to wait till the weekend because that was the only period I didn’t have classes and then replace everything that was destroyed. I still was unable to purchase a surge protector because I hadn’t seen a place to get it yet, so I just went along and got the other things.
At this point, It was 2 days to the release date, and all I had was the draft and a half-designed cover for the book. So I first got started on the image before transitioning to finishing the book. I hadn’t written all the poems, and I also needed to weed some of them out.
Knowing all this was inevitably going to take more time than I bargained for, and It wasn’t like everything else was going to pause for this task to be accomplished. I decided to make a priority list.
First, I would finish up the cover.
Second, Write additional poems.
Next, Weed out the poems that didn’t cut it.
Lastly, Structure the poems.
With this checklist, I got to work and was able to finish a fair amount of them before time ran out, and I had to release the book.
I’m glad I did release the book on the 9th of April because I’m almost certain that if I didn’t, then I would have convinced myself never to.
