We don’t know what others think
of us.
We have no clue how they
perceive us.
So all that we are left
to do is assume.
We assume that if they don’t respond
immediately then they don’t like us
enough.
We assume they don’t
want to be in our presence.
Do we have proof?
Most times, we don’t.
So we can’t
tell if we are projecting what we feel
on the inside, to others.
Or perhaps we’ve been alone for so long
that it’s what feels familiar.
