The mere mention of the word summer paints a picture of beach houses, cooling waves, sandy beaches, swimsuits and serenity.

Summer is arguably the best time of the year to take a vacation because the kids are home, energised and just dying to go out and play, you’re off work and so is your spouse. Or if you live alone, school is closed and the workplace has given you some time off.
Everything aligns and is just screaming REST.
What better way to do that than to take a vacation.
And before you begin listing all the reasons why you shouldn’t take a vacation and how busy they are, let me give you 4 reasons that will make you plan that trip.
⦁You deserve a break: The first half of the year is done and I’m sure you’ve done a tremendous job at the office or with your own business. It’s time to take a break from the screen and enjoy what’s right in front of you.

You’re a hard worker I’m sure but you need to rest and hang up your superhero cape even if it’s for a few weeks. If not now, then when? Summer is the longest holiday of the year and all the more reason why you should spend it recuperating.
⦁The kids are off from school: Building a solid relationship with your kids is something I’m sure you prioritise. If you work a 9-5 job then I’m sure your kids don’t get to see you enough hence why It’s extremely important that you spend quality time getting to know them because anytime now they’re gonna to go into the real world and you’ll be stuck asking yourself where has the time gone.

⦁Choosing a hobby: We all love our hobbies. They keep us entertained when we are bored, occupied when we feel empty and busy when we have nothing to do. And throwing in a bonus point, they help relieve stress. If you don’t have a hobby, are bored of the old ones or you would like to try something out of your field then you can work on this during your vacation. Perhaps you have always liked to bake but never got the time to learn well. Here’s an opportunity right in front of you.

⦁Time is running out: We are in the middle of the year already meaning we have 6 months to go. Those 6 months which would probably be spent trying to meet up with the rest of your goals and there’s nothing wrong with that but where’s the time for rest.
Or have you forgotten that Rest was part of your goals this year. If you don’t take care of your body, where would you live? Time is running out so choose this tie to rest so you can come back to chase your goals with renewed strength and unimaginable energy.

All the work in the world is going to wait until you get back, you need to begin taking care of yourself because if you don’t, who will?
Closing Remarks
A vacation can come in various forms. For some it’s a sandy beach on an evergreen island, for others it’s a good meal and solitude at home. Regardless of where you are and what your summer is going to look like, strive to include a little break period, you will need it.
