My favorite quote and motto is “Life is 10% of what we have been through, but 10% of it is how we choose to react to it.” This Quote kinda lines up with your statement because if we choose to react to someone’s demise and evilness towards us, it doesn’t hurt them, it hurts us mentally and emotionally in the long run and steals our joy and peace. But if we don’t react to someone else’s demise and evilness and just allow it to roll off our shoulders, we keep our “Sanity” and we still have our peace and joy. Great Poem!!!! 😊
I’m glad you see it this way. It can be hard to explain to people that they hold the power to react and respond to situations around them.
This is because sometimes our emotions feel so overwhelming and they are turned on so quickly that we feel we can’t control them but we can.
When you shift your mindset from ‘She upset me’ to ‘I made the choice to get upset over what she did’
It really changes a lot and helps preserve our sanity.
