Breathe, Live & Smile

Some want kids to be seen but not heard,
Perfect little angels who do what they’re told,
Not humans with their own set of emotions.

Some want kids to be still and look pretty,
The epitome of the perfect family.
Lips only to smile,
Eyes only to twinkle,
Ears only to listen.

Some want kids to be silent and only speak when spoken to
Little wonder why their pleas fall on deaf ears
For it was their role to listen and not the other way round.

Author’s Note

Today is Self Care Sunday and under normal circumstances I would have made a post about 10 inspiring quotes for you however I was inspired to write this poem this morning hence why I chose to post this Instead.

That’s an enlightening read.. when I am exhausted as a mother, I am easily annoyed.. but this reminds me to accept the fact that my little human can be annoyed too..

I’m happy you could see the essence of the poem. I’m not a mother however when dealing with my younger siblings I remind myself that they too have emotions and should be allowed to express them
