Breathe, Live & Smile

The people we surround ourselves with says a lot about us and the strength of our character, hence why, when deciding who makes the team, you need to be as brutal as possible only recruiting the best of the best.

In today’s post, I’ll show you 4 types of people who should never under any circumstances find their type on the acceptance list.

These people should NEVER get on the team every single year.

To start off, we have the person who sees you and your endeavours as small.

They always try to make it seem like you aren’t doing enough and will never do enough. They’re the people that when you are very happy and share good news with them they give you a ‘reality’ check and it’s like a splash of cold water. They’re the type that say, ‘I see your little business is going well.’ or ‘is that original?’

Whenever you share good news with them you instantly feel regret. First off anyone who refers to your business as little or small is not your friend or they ask if what you bought is original, why is that the first thing that’s coming to your mind.

Where’s the Congratulations?

They seem to always smile at your achievement, however you somehow feel it’s not genuine even though you can’t prove it. You’re not crazy, you’re right.

Next, They always deflect rather than take responsibility.

It can be frustrating to even breathe the same air as them because for some reason everything is your fault. If you didn’t clean out the room, they would have remembered where they kept your keys. They didn’t spill coffee on your laptop because why did you place your laptop on the table in the first place?

They did no wrong and can never do any wrong, the world is at fault and they are merely the victims. This blatant lack of Accountability and Responsibility can be incredibly frustrating and tiring after a few months of being in their company because you begin to see the self righteousness behind it and it’s just off putting when you need to bear the blame for things that are clearly their fault.

In addition, they always undermine your success. This is quite different from the first point because these types are typically not doing anything but always seem to put you down when you want to start anything.

They’re that person who can never stick to any purpose but the moment you try to stick to something they remind you of all the stumbling blocks on the way or never acknowledge any of your milestone achievements.

“You have just 300 followers? You’ll never get to a thousand.”

“You’re applying for jobs? There’s tons of more qualified people who they will pick. “

“You want to learn a new skill? That skill isn’t in demand so don’t waste your time.”

“That niche is oversaturated, you’ll never make it there.”

Always pay attention to the intention behind people’s words.

To crown it all, stay away from people who want to hold you accountable to even the worst of your mistakes yet they never acknowledge any of theirs.

These are the types to always point out what you did wrong but never admit that they did any wrong.

“How can you not have done this?” When it’s your turn, however the narrative quickly shifts to “it slipped my mind, it’s not that big of a deal” when it’s their turn.

Closing Remarks

Be safe out there especially amongst the people in your circle.

If they don’t make the cut, they can proceed to the back of the line like everyone else who didn’t make the cut.

It’s better to be alone than be surrounded by sharks.
