There is this video trending on tiktok a few months back and if I still had the link I would have stitched it however I do not but in the video, this woman was stating that nobody reps their colour harder than purple people, she goes further to state that pink people are a close second which obviously pissed off the pink girlies a lot.

So here’s my 2 cents on it.  

I do agree with what she said and before you come for me let me explain why.

My mom is a purple person, she would buy everything purple in sight to the point that I have to ask her, ‘Do you like it or is it purple?’ And as you guessed, It’s always just purple. That’s her basis for buying a lot of the things that she has.

Now that’s not the creepy part, as her daughter I would like to state that I do not have a favourite colour although I can tolerate some colours more than I do others, I have no preference for colour as long as it is styled appropriately.

A common misconception that my friends or people have is that my favourite colour is purple which is false.

Why do people think that? Well thanks to my mother of course.

I own so many purple things that I never really realized until a friend pointed it out to me. My apartment walls are all painted purple, my bedcover, duvet, bedhseets are purple, my water bottle is purple. Basically everything my mom got for me is purple.

So people see me and think, She loves purple but I do not. And don’t get me started on how many purple outfits I have. My mom does most of my shopping for me simply because she is a darling and she always gets all the best deals which I’m fine with.

However my birthday passed a couple months ago and my friend got me a journal and matching set pens which I absolutely love because it is so pretty. But when I asked them why they got it in purple and not any other colour, they looked at me confused and were like ‘umm.. because your favourite colour is purple.’

Based on these few points of mine, I would like to state that purple people rep their colour the hardest which isn’t easy and before you want to bring up people who rep black, let’s be honest it’s not hard to rep the colour black because everything in black looks good but for purple, pink and any other colour out there it’s harder to rep. Agree to disagree on this point here but I do believe that this is just it.

Closing remarks

I would say that pink girlies are a close second but with pink girlies it’s really in your face and like a pink girly can go buy a pink car or a pink house which is just very excessive and like I said in your face. However Purple people are more subtle in unsubtle ways which just makes it all the more better.

I also think we don’t show enough love to blue people who also do a pretty good job at repping their colour.
