Breathe, Live & Smile

People often say, ‘Trust the process.’ ‘Everything works together for good.’ And I used think that was a lie. Until well it happened to me.

So a few months back, work was slow. Like really slow and it was frustrating because I had things I wanted to get and just in general no one likes it when work is slow especially if you are a remote worker.

So I would have a lot of free time on my hands and I used that time to work on my blog. I would write a lot and edit them on my laptop. I don’t know why but rather than sit idle after doing the small work I had, I used that time to compensate for my blog.

About 2 months of doing this and I got a huge project that I couldn’t believe I got. And after that came another one and another and another to the point that for the first time in my one year freelancing career, I had to start rejecting some projects because I was too swamped to take them on. By this period I was already back in school so it was hard to balance everything and still meet up with posting on my blog at a consistent time.

So I decided to send all the files I had written during that period to my phone so it was easier to upload that way. And I had over 68, 000 words written just waiting to be posted. I was surprised that I had written that much but at the same time relieved that this would take some of the burden off me.

Now where am I going with this?

Everything does work out in the end. In the past 3 months that I have posted daily, I have only written about a handful of those posts, the rest were from the backlog I had written.

And I’m thankful for this because I haven’t had the time to do anything else. My rouine some days was wake up, get to class, do some work in between classes, get home, read, work and sleep. I didn’t even have enough time to cook so often I ordered food out or ate junk.

During those 2 months when I felt like everything wasn’t working out, all I needed to do was be patient and trust the process.

Even as I’m writing this post, I still have about 26, 000 words in my draft.
