Recently, I was listening to the Disney’s Frozen soundtrack and I came across ‘For the first time in forever.’
My personal favourite from the OST are ‘Let it go’ and ‘Do you want to build a snowman’
While listening to for the first time in forever which was Anna’s way of expressing that she is excited that they are opening up the gates for the first time in what felt like forever.
And for the first time, I saw her world through her eyes. What it must have felt like to be locked up and locked out.
Trapped into those daunting halls with little sunlight and no one to talk to while being plagued with thoughts of what you must have done to hurt your older sister so much that she didn’t even want to even speak to you, keeping in mind that this was the only family she had left.
Everyone talks about how Elsa lost her parents but we forget that Anna was also left behind, her being even younger than Elsa.
And even if she wanted to make friends, it could never be with the staff as they wouldn’t get too close with her for why would they mingle with royalty?
So it’s understandable that she fell in love with the first person who wanted to talk to her. She sought companionship in the place of love. She might not have been in love with him because she might not have even known what love meant but he came into her dull and lonely life and added a bit of colour. The first time in years she wasn’t laughing at her own jokes in a dark empty hallway.
He was a sneaky bastard who wanted everything she had but she couldn’t see that for the starving, even poison will seem like a feast for gods.
