I’ll keep it short and sweet. 

People will eat their cake and yours too if you’ll let them. And they’ll be unapologetic about it too. 

You mustn’t have been hungry if you gave it up so easily. Or even if you were hungry, they didn’t care. 

Some people are bad. No need to philosophize it, no need to understand them. Accept this simple truth and detach from them. Lest they bore a hole in your ship and sink with them.
