Breathe, Live & Smile

I absolutely hate it when people pretend like every statement should be taken in its literal entire form.

Suddenly on social media we act like every statement made should create space for your unique or different situation to cushion your ego and make you feel seen.

No better place does this shine through that in gender made statements. You would be dragged through the proverbial streets of the internet if you said;

“Men are Rapists.”

Because of course there will be people in the comments to remind you that well, “it’s not all men.”

Where in the sentence does it say it’s all men? Of course it’s not all men but it’s enough men. The statement wouldn’t be made if it were just two or three men who have perpetrated such evil but the multiplicity of the cases led to that.

You’re more uncomfortable with the Men part of that sentence and not the rape. I don’t know how we have gotten to a stage where rape isn’t viewed as a heinous crime but being gay is.

Is it all men? No

But is it always a woman? Yes

And is it enough men? Also yes
