To steal a quote from Ko mo yeon in the korean drama series, It’s Okay not to be Okay, ‘Rather than fantasize looking up into the sky, stare at you feet that are stuck in the mud. Once you accept your reality, everybody be happy’

⦁ If anything can go wrong, It will

One of murphy’s law. It’s one of those laws that is never too far away from my mind. Because in life if anything can go wrong, 9.5 chances out of 10, it will. So be like the professor from the Netflix series Money Heist and set back up plans. and plans to back up the back up plans.

⦁ Find canvass for other people to paint on

This is referred to the canvas theory. In this day and age, no one wants to work for anyone. Everyone wants to be their own ‘boss’. That’s a sure way to failure, because you lack one thing called experience and that is essentially what your superior has. So rather than grumble, why not find canvasses for them to paint on. It’s all about clearing the path for them.’ Where’s the fun in that’, you’re probably thinking. But don’t forget that he who clears the way controls the direction of the path.

⦁ There is nothing special about you.

These days motivational quotes are preaching the narrative, ‘You’re special’ louder than ever. But have to stopped to think that if indeed everyone was special, great, extra-ordinary wouldn’t that make in itself make everyone ordinary? The fact that there is nothing special about you is the main reason why you’ll excel because rather than feeding your ego, you’re getting the work done.

⦁ Your talent won’t get you far.

Talent is always just the beginning point, never the end point. Obsession beats talent every time. Dedication beats talent every time. Perseverance beats talent every time. Consistency beats talent every time. A lot of people are talented so it’s nothing new but what are you willing to endure is what sets you apart.

⦁ Live and act small

Dream big, but live and act small. A man’s biggest blessing is a thrifty tongue. When you picture wealth, you think flashy cars, expensive trips, luxury items, and many more. But that is far from what wealth is. Wealth is quiet. A read of the book titled The Millionaire Next Door will help you understand what I mean more. You would be surprised that a millionaire could be living next door to you and you wouldn’t even know.

⦁ You’re not the main character in everyone’s story.

Not everyone cares about you and frankly speaking not everyone sees you, the same way you don’t see everyone. You’re not the main character in everyone’s story only yours. In someone else’s story you could be a sub character , or even an extra. Never you think the world revolves around. The novel, The Unhoneymooners by Christian Lauren is a book that shows how easily you can be mistaken and read meanings into someone else’s behavior.

⦁ You will get rejected in life more often than you will be celebrated

Every no leads you closer to a potential Yes. So don’t let it deter you. Everyone who became famous have definitely been told no more times than they have been told yes. So expect the same from you if you’re going to go down that part or don’t, it’s all up to you and the universe. But remember that big idea you have, that business plan, you’re most likely going to hear NO a couple of times but do it regardless. No one sees the vision better than the Visioner.
