Breathe, Live & Smile

It’s that time of the semester when the exams are approaching or, in my case, here already—and the week leading up until this one has been very unproductive for me in other areas.

Now, I don’t know if this is me being burnout, tired, needing a break or just straight-up lazy.

As a studentprenuer, it’s hard enough balancing work and school, but it gets harder as exams draw nearer.

I have been doing a lot of overnight reading, and if you’ve ever tried reading straight from 10 pm till 6 am, you know one thing, you’re surely going to be beaten up when you get back home.

So you will most likely spend the day sleeping, which is okay because you have accomplished a lot overnight.

But when you also work, this is not okay. Because your deadlines aren’t extending, and even if you pretend they aren’t there, guess what? They still are.

So you have to pull yourself to work, but that’s not as bad as it seems because you’re getting paid, so that’s the incentive you need to booth up your system when you wake up after a long night of studying and your body feels like a car slammed into you.

But you see, aside from the degree you’re working to get and the work you’re being paid for, everything else feels like a chore. Everything else feels too stressful to do.

You can’t arrange your wardrobe or be bothered to lay your bed. Even cooking seems like a hell of a task, and aside from work, the only time you want your laptop on is when watching an anime to help you fall asleep.

So what happens to your personal development plans?

Well, they become sidetracked. It’s getting harder to bring yourself to write to improve your skill or even take that course you signed up for. That new book you were reading to which you originally dedicated an hour can barely have 10 minutes of your day.

You rather just lay in bed and either sleep because you know you’re gonna keep that energy at night, or you just lay in bed staring at the ceiling, thinking of all the things you should be doing but aren’t.

It’s even a miracle that I’m writing this post because I almost gave up and just went back to lying down in preparation for a long night ahead.

If you’ve read up till this point, What do you advise I do?

Author’s Note

I wrote this post a while back during the heat of my exams but now the semester is over but I’d still like advice on any system you know that can be incredibly helpful in times like this.

I’m glad my deadline for assessment is today! And finished my requirement ahead of time. I can relax now ☺️

That feeling that you can relax after a long period of working or studying is just bliss 😊
