Breathe, Live & Smile

I can’t understand why feminie

and masculine congure such

distinct images.

Feminie is associated with emotional

instability and trivial things like

makeup and bags meanwhile

masuline is brave, strong and

well grounded.

Great Queens throughout history

have often referred to themselves as

Kings.

If a woman is strong and brave she is

said to emit masculine energy.

My question in all this is how did

weakness become the parameter

for feminity.

Why is a brave woman described as

a woman like a man? And not just a

woman.

Understanding how deeply ingrained

the disparirtes is proves that this isn’t an

issue one generation can tackle.

Women weren’t always portrayed like this, its recent history that cemented the image. I think the lines are blurring now, which I love. I know strong fierce women who portray a more “feminine” image. I consider myself as such, but i have to work my butt off so people dont dismiss me at first glance. I also know feminine men who are trailblazers, too. When I think of feminity, I think strength, overcoming adversity, and independence and those that own their own image – however that is perceived, but I also exist in a society where I once got introduced as the new manager in a corporate role, as Claire “she has a great sense of style”

It’s almost crazy to think that was how you were introduced in a corporate role as if that was all you had to offer… I like that the lines are blurring and feminine isn’t seen as fragile. I love what you describe feminine as because in all honesty that’s what it is.
